A geography card game

Real places, natural rarity

No made-up monsters: every card is a village, a town or a city that actually exists, with its real data.

  • Official data

    Population, area, elevation, biome and labels come from national statistics offices and open data.

  • Population sets the rarity

    Thousands of villages, a handful of big cities: the more people live in a place, the rarer its card.

  • Your hometown

    Pick your hometown and get its Hometown card, with your username on the back. It can never be traded.

  • Better with friends

    Add friends, swap your duplicates, battle in duels and compare collections.

How it works

Start in three steps

  1. Open packs

    A free pack every 10 minutes, 5 cards each time. The last card is always at least Rare.

  2. Build your collection

    Sort your cards by country, region and area, and watch your collection color in the map.

  3. Play and trade

    Quiz duels, the Daily Commune, the Tour of the regions: put your cards to the test and trade your duplicates.

Seven tiers, from village to megacity

Each card shows the color and letter of its tier, three battle stats (ATK, HP, DEF) and its biome. These are real cards from the game.

Game modes

Put your collection to the test

Collecting is only the start: every mode plays with your cards and your geography knowledge.

  • Daily Commune

    One mystery town a day, the same for everyone. Find it in 6 guesses from its outline, with distance and direction clues.

  • Quiz duel

    Decks of 5 cards, 5 rounds. Which town is bigger, which is farther north? Answer right and your card attacks.

  • Tour of the regions

    Conquer the regions one by one by beating their capital. First win: an Ultra rare card from that region.

  • Stat battle

    3 quick rounds: a stat is drawn (population, area, elevation…) and your best card for it wins.

  • Trades

    Swap cards with friends, up to 5 cards on each side, with counteroffers.

  • Market

    Buy and sell cards at auction, only for GeoCoins earned by playing.

FAQ

Before you play

Is Geo-Masters free to play?

Yes. The game is in open beta and free: all you need is an account. Every card can be earned by playing. An optional Pro account and a GeoCoins shop are in preparation; packs are never sold.

Do I need to download an app?

No. Geo-Masters is a free browser game that runs on computers, tablets and phones. On a phone, you can add it to your home screen from the browser and open it like an app.

How is the rarity of a card decided?

Rarity comes from population: small villages are Common (C), large cities are Legendary (L) and the biggest cities in the world are Mythic (M). There are seven tiers in all. The higher the tier, the stronger and rarer the card.
