What is Geo-Masters?
Geo-Masters is an online geography collectible card game. Every card is a real town, village or city, with its population, its biome and its battle stats. You open packs, complete your collection area by area, then put your cards to work: quiz duels, the Daily Commune, the Tour of the regions, trades and the Market.
Is Geo-Masters free to play?
Yes. The game is in open beta and free: all you need is an account. Every card can be earned by playing. An optional Pro account and a GeoCoins shop are in preparation; packs are never sold.
Do I need to download an app?
No. Geo-Masters is a free browser game that runs on computers, tablets and phones. On a phone, you can add it to your home screen from the browser and open it like an app.
Which countries are available?
4 countries are open: France (34,875 cards), Belgium (565 cards), Germany (10,752 cards) and the United States (19,463 cards), 65,655 cards in all. More countries will follow.
How is the rarity of a card decided?
Rarity comes from population: small villages are Common (C), large cities are Legendary (L) and the biggest cities in the world are Mythic (M). There are seven tiers in all. The higher the tier, the stronger and rarer the card.
What is in a pack?
A pack holds 5 cards. Each slot has its own odds, public and the same for everyone, and the last card is always at least Rare. After 10 packs without a Super rare, the next one is sure to contain one; after 60 packs without an Ultra rare, the next one guarantees one.
How many packs can I open?
A free pack arrives every 10 minutes, up to 4 in reserve, plus 1 login pack per day. The Tour of the regions, crafting, trades and the Market help you complete your collection.
What can I do with duplicates?
A duplicate is never wasted. Recycle it into Shards (5 Shards for a C card) and craft a card you are missing, trade it with a friend or sell it at auction for GeoCoins. Your last copy of a card and your Hometown card are never recycled.
Can I trade cards with friends?
Yes. Pick the cards you give and the ones you ask for, up to 5 on each side. Trades are cards only, no GeoCoins, and need a verified email address. Hometown cards cannot be traded.
What is the Daily Commune?
A daily geography puzzle: one mystery town, the same for every player in a country, to find in 6 guesses from its outline alone. After each guess, you see the distance, the direction and whether it is more or less populous. Share your grid without giving away the answer.
Is it an educational game?
The cards are built on official data: population, area, elevation, biome, labels. While playing, you learn where towns are, which ones are the most populous, the farthest north or the highest, and which department, district or county they belong to. It stays a game first.
Is the game available in English?
Yes. Geo-Masters is available in English and French. It opens in your browser language, and you can switch at any time in Settings. More languages will follow.
How do I create an account, and what happens to my data?
Sign in with an email address and a password, or with a Google account. From your profile, you can export your data or delete your account.
Who makes Geo-Masters?
Geo-Masters is published by Creative AI Studio. Card data comes from open sources (national statistics and mapping agencies, Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons, Wikipedia), all credited in the game.
